SEIU California represents over 700,000 caregivers, janitors, nurses, social workers, school workers, and many others who for the first time have all embraced Climate Equity as a shared goal under the leadership of Executive Director Alma Hernández. SEIU California has been a key partner in electing bold environmental champions to office!
Producers Jeff Skoll, Diane Weyermann, and Richard Berge and directors Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk make films to change the world. Their work with Vice President Al Gore on Participant Media’s ‘An Inconvenient Sequel’ highlights our many accomplishments in the fight against climate change since the first film in 2006, and the difficult work still remaining.
“Climate change is the single greatest threat to California, our nation’s future, and our environment. As a member of Congress, I will champion legislation to reduce carbon pollution in the U.S.” Congressman Ted Lieu has made fighting climate change his priority since Day One. As a member of the California Senate he co-authored California’s landmark Global Warming Solutions Act, and he has introduced the Climate Solutions Act, which aims to make California’s ground-breaking renewable energy goals and climate emissions reduction targets a national model, as his first bill in Congress. Congressman Lieu will share unique insights on how we can fight the Trump administration’s catastrophic campaign of environmental destruction.
This celebration is also an opportunity to thank you for your support of our mission to protect California’s air, water, coast, and community health! Please join us.
